Harmony and Team Building Discourse

Centre of Data and Information Management (PPDM) has organized Harmony and Teambuilding Discourse at Tuaran on 28 and 29 November 2019. This event was attended by all staffs from PPDM.

The objective of the harmony discourse was to discuss the future direction of PPDM for year 2020 oriented with innovation, saving and generation. The outcomes of the implemented activities which were planed for year 2019 were then presented together with the issues and solutions to mitigate and overcome the issues and challenges faced throughout the implementation of the activities.

Among the main achievements of PPDM throughout year 2019, Smart-Hadir application won the Sabah Public Sector Innovation Award (ISAS) 2019. Besides, PPDM has also developed UMS MyRA internal system which will be used for data and evidence collection for MyRA 2019. From the aspect of data management, PPDM was able to ensure UMS to retain MyMohes 5 stars again. Data analysis section from PPDM also has conducted preliminary research to analyse the achievement of student grades with the objective to monitor and predict the academic achievement of the students. For starters, PPDM has made Faculty of Computing and Informatics (FKI) as a study case.

In this harmony discourse as well, the award system has been introduced by PPDM for the first time. For phase one, there were three awards being introduced, namely PPDM KPI Award, PPDM Innovation Award, and PPDM Involvement and Community Award. PPDM KPI Award was won by Mr. Mohd. Zamrie bin Musa, whereas PPDM Innovation Award was won by Ms. Nuraliah binti Alias and the team with innovation titled “UMS MyRA System”. As for PPDM Involvement and Community Award, it was won by Ms. Noor Afiza binti Momen.

Teambuilding activity was also held to cultivate mutual understanding as everyone in the team may has different opinion. Nonetheless, everyone has to work together as a team in work relationship. During the teambuilding activity, staffs were split into small groups and each member in the team has commit to achieve the milestones and hold the responsibilities together. The teambuilding activity was also able to build a team that can rely on each other and work together.

Resulted from the resolution of the harmony discourse, it was expected that it will be more challenging for PPDM in year 2020 for the realization of launching digital ID, JFPIB Data Rating, widening of the implementation of Smart Hadir, Data Analysis and Dashboard Development in assisting the management of UMS to make decision.
